On April 20th, 2015, IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Big Data (bigMM) commenced at the China National Conference Center. As one of the major sponsors as well as being the title sponsor, China Security & Fire extended its full support.
bigMM is jointly initiated by IEEE-TCMC (Technical Committee on Multimedia Computing) and IEEE-TCSEM (Technical Committee on Semantic Computing), and is the top symposium on multimedia Big Data globally. The conference with the theme “Multimedia: the biggest Big Data”, was held by Peking University and lasted three days.
As one of most valuable information resources currently, multimedia is increasingly becoming the biggest source of Big Data. In terms of security monitoring, video Big Data processing has always been the focus of security industry. Facing the three challenges in current video system Big Data applications such as “insufficient storage space, search difficulty, and unclear images”, China Security & Fire, is attempting to make independent research and development, while introducing high-end technological resources brought by a team of academicians through cooperation with universities. China Security & Fire has established a program with Gao Wen academicians from Peking University to make proactive studies on smart video technologies in security monitoring. The plan is to achieve totally new research and development, push transformation from technologies to products and industrialization, and develop industrial standards through cooperation that lasts 3 to 5 years.
As a carrier-class enterprise in China security industry, by participating and sponsoring this bigMM conference, China Security & Fire intends to discuss research and development in multimedia Big Data in related technological fields, hoping to promote application of a large number of relevant technologies, and contribute to smart and safe cities through practical applications of multimedia Big Data.
